Getting Started

YouTool is free because the goal is to make practical YouTube creator tools accessible without starting every workflow with a payment requirement. Public website tools and extension tools are free today, and the project is creator-supported by people who find the tools useful.

You can support YouTool by sharing it with other creators, sending useful bug reports or feature requests, and making an optional contribution through the support button. Support helps with hosting, API usage, maintenance, YouTube data experiments, and future creator tools.

The intention is to keep the public toolbox free for as long as it is sustainable. YouTool is offered as-is and may evolve over time as hosting costs, API limits, support needs, and YouTube platform changes evolve.

YouTube frequently updates its platform, data availability, page structure, and API behavior. When that happens, YouTool may need updates so the tools stay accurate, useful, and compliant with YouTube and Google requirements.

Simply copy your YouTube video URL and paste it into our Video Analyzer tool. Our system will automatically fetch and analyze all available public data including views, engagement, tags, and performance metrics. You'll get detailed insights about your video's performance and recommendations for improvement.

YouTool is designed for creators of all experience levels. Simply paste a YouTube URL into any of our tools and get instant insights. No technical knowledge required - our interface guides you through the analysis with clear, actionable recommendations you can implement right away.

Chrome Extension

Search for "YouTool.io" in the Chrome Web Store and click "Add to Chrome". Once installed, the YouTool icon will appear in your browser toolbar. Click it to open the popup anytime you're on YouTube or YouTube Studio.

Open the extension popup and click "Sign in with Google". This uses the same account you use on YouTool.io — signing in once links your extension to your account so your settings sync across devices.

Sign in to your YouTool.io account first, then open the extension popup and use the Connect YouTube button in the YouTool Tools section, or go to your Account page on the website and click "Connect YouTube Channel". Once connected, your channel profile picture appears in the popup, the stats bar loads, and personalized tools can use the read-only data you authorized.

When your YouTube channel is connected, the popup shows net subscriber change and views for the selected range. Click the range pill to switch between 1D, 7D, and 30D. The popup remembers your selected range and caches each range locally once per day so stats load quickly after the first fetch.

After your channel stats load, click the small arrow attached to the stats pill to expand the trend graph. It shows subscribers and views for the selected 1D, 7D, or 30D range, and hover points reveal the date and values. If you change the range while the graph is open, it stays open and redraws with the new data.

The extension enhances YouTube Studio with dashboard customization, extra analytics timeline options, extra content-page columns, a real-time engaged views option, and Streamer Mode. Streamer Mode redacts thumbnails, titles, channel identity, revenue, stats, and audience panels so you can screen-share more safely.

On YouTube watch pages the extension can add screenshot capture, one-click transcript copying, copy description, copy tags, thumbnail download, video analyzer, channel analyzer, estimated dislikes via Return YouTube Dislike, monetization checks, loop controls, theater mode, speed controls, and URL cleanup. Most of these can be toggled on or off from the popup.

YouTool Tools controls the YouTool actions added inside YouTube. You can enable Thumbnail Downloader, Video Analyzer, and Channel Analyzer buttons. These tools appear in the YouTool floating menu on watch pages after the feature is enabled. Some personalized tools work best after your YouTube channel is connected.

Enable Copy Transcript in the popup, then use the YouTool menu on a YouTube video. The extension opens the transcript when needed, copies the transcript text automatically, and cleans the copied text so timestamps and repeated transcript UI labels are easier to read.

The popup includes hide controls for Shorts areas, home page ads, live chat, end screen cards, watch page comments, home news popups, YouTube Playables promos, and watch page recommendations. These settings are designed to make YouTube cleaner when you are researching, screen-sharing, or trying to focus.

The Playback section includes a dedicated loop button, automatic theater mode, forced playback speed, any-speed player buttons, Shorts speed control, and Shorts auto scroll. You can also set the exact player speed and the step size used by the speed buttons.

Custom Theme applies a YouTube theme override. You can choose YouTube Dark, Enhancer for YouTube, YouTube Deep Dark, or YouTube Deep Dark Custom, then pick a variant or set your own accent, background, hover, text, and shadow colors.

Tools & Features

YouTool includes 26 creator tools across video analysis, channel analysis, keyword research, tag generation, thumbnail testing, outlier research, comment export, playlist analysis, asset downloads, utilities, and Chrome extension workflows.

Our data comes directly from YouTube's official API, ensuring maximum accuracy. However, some metrics may have slight delays as YouTube updates their systems. We retrieve all publicly available data and present it in an easy-to-understand format with actionable insights.

You can analyze any public YouTube content. Private or unlisted videos cannot be analyzed as they're not accessible through YouTube's public API. Simply paste any public YouTube URL and our tools will provide comprehensive analytics and insights.

Data & Privacy

Public website tools generally fetch and process the requested YouTube data in real time. If you sign in and connect your YouTube channel, YouTool stores a connection record and may store read-only connected-channel analytics history so account features can compare performance over time. Connected-channel patterns may also be reviewed internally to improve benchmarks, experiment ideas, and future creator tools. The extension caches selected stats locally in Chrome storage once per day for faster loading.

Absolutely. We use Google sign-in and YouTube's official APIs, and we never ask for your YouTube password. Website and extension requests use HTTPS. Extension settings, selected stats range, and daily stats cache are stored in Chrome storage so your preferences persist between popup opens.

Yes! Your search history is stored locally in your browser. You can clear it anytime through your browser settings or by using the "Clear Data" option in our Cookie Policy page. We also provide tools to manage your data preferences.

This usually happens if the content is private, deleted, or if there's a temporary issue with YouTube's API. Make sure the URL is correct and the content is public. If the issue persists, try again in a few minutes or contact our support team.

Most errors are temporary and resolve quickly. Try refreshing the page or waiting a few minutes before trying again. If you continue experiencing issues, please visit our contact page with details about the error and the URL you were trying to analyze.
