How to Use the Comment Picker

The Comment Picker randomly selects winners from the YouTube comments it loads. It includes filters for defining the eligible pool before you start an ordinary creator giveaway or contest.

Enter Video URL

Paste the YouTube video URL from your giveaway or contest post. Our system will fetch up to 1,000 top-level comments from the video, including like counts and posting timestamps for filtering.

Apply Filters (Optional)

Use advanced filters to refine your selection criteria. Filter by minimum likes, specific keywords, date ranges, comment length, or entries whose returned author channel ID matches the video's channel. Enable multiple winner mode to select several winners at once.

Pick Random Winners

Click the selection button to pick from the eligible comments with the browser's random-number function. The animation reveals the result, and you can export winner details or run another draw from the remaining pool.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does the random selection work? The picker uses the browser's Math.random() function on the current pool of eligible comments. Every entry in that pool has the same chance of being selected. The animation is visual only; the winner is chosen before it begins. This is suitable for ordinary creator giveaways, but it is not a cryptographically verifiable draw.
  • How many comments can the tool load? The tool requests up to 1,000 top-level comments per video (10 pages × 100 entries) using YouTube's relevance ordering. If a video has more comments, the selection pool is only the returned sample, not every participant.
  • What if someone posted multiple comments? Each returned top-level comment is a separate entry, so one author can appear more than once. The tool does not deduplicate authors. Set your entry rule before drawing and verify the selected entry against that rule.
  • Does the tool include replies to comments? No. The selection pool contains the returned top-level comment threads only; nested replies are not included.
  • What does the Export Winners button do? It downloads a JSON file with each selected entry's display name, comment text, timestamp, and like count. The export does not include an email address or other private contact details.
